Molly-II started life as sheet steel in a boat builders in Liverpool, The Liverpool Boat Co, now unfortunately gone. They were a busy builders, building many boats in the boom years, whilst bespoke as such they were also off the peg. The interior elements are largely the same across the boats, but tiles and the like could be chosen.
Izuzu engines were used and their power output being matched to the length of the boat, ours is a 35 bhp version, with the addition of a Air Cleaner (installed by David), a PRM120 gearbox is matched to the engine with Vetus stern gear.
We had a inverter installed, along with battery charger and Eberspacher Central Heating, later replaced with a more reliable Webasto Thermo Top C. The boat has 4 leisure batteries, a starter battery and now a 600 watt pure sinewave inverter so we can power a TV and use a laptop and printer when needed. We also carry a 2Kwh 240v inverter generator for when we need to use the vacuum cleaner or hair drier!
